Estimation station

In Maths, we are looking at tens and units and estimation. Estimation is making a good guess. Try and think how many groups of ten you think there are and remember - no counting.

Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who has remembered to bring their money in for World Math Day. Together we can make a difference.

oa, ow, oh!

This week our sound is 'oa' like in goat. Sometimes 'ow' says the same  like in snow, grow and show.

We had great fun today in First Grade celebrating World Math Day and helping raise money for children in schools in other countries who are not as lucky as we are. We played Math games, had a number sentence challenge, did a Minute Math Marathon and even read number stories. We love Math.

Days of the week

Today we talked about how the days of the week also need capital letters, just like our names, places and of course the first letter in a sentence. Can you put the days of the week in order?

Our sound this week

Our letter sound this week is le. It's the sound you hear at the end of words like bottle, giggle and wiggle.
My trick this week is to remember there are 2 letters the same in the middle of lots of words that end in 'le'.
Can you remember the name of this word that ends in 'le'?
