Me on the map!
First Grade are looking at maps this week. We have been learning about the different things you can see on a map and the different symbols that are used. We made our own maps with plasticine and made a list of different things you can see in an atlas.

First Grade go live!
Today we had a very interesting trip to Eitb in Bilbao. We saw a radio show live on air and went into a TV studio. We saw lots of cameras, cables and lights and watched all the journalists busy working in the news room. We learnt so many new things about how TV and radio is made and also the different jobs that people have at Eitb. You can watch Eitb for children and play games here:

Cool down with tens and units fun
Wow. What warm Spring weather. Cool yourself down by putting the penguins in the right place to make a tens and units number.
Not tricky enough? Can you find the 10 bones on the blank 100 square in less than a minute?

Estimation station
In Maths, we are looking at tens and units and estimation. Estimation is making a good guess. Try and think how many groups of ten you think there are and remember - no counting.
